Packaging, in most cases,
will be the main protection (insurance) against
shipment damage (unless factory new/factory
packed). All the insurance in the world won't
protect an improperly packaged shipment from
damage. The main thing to remember is to use
your best judgment when packaging an item
for shipment. See our
case sizing suggestions.
- Delicate items should be packed on a stable
base and covered in a way to eliminate exposure
to scratching or dinging. Crating, pallets, and
heavy gauge cardboard should be considered for
delicate items. High density
polyethylene shipping cases protect your item
best.
- It is recommended that for electronic
equipment and breakable items that at least 3"
of foam surround the item.
- Be sure to provide enough empty (foam
filled) space in your case. The
heavier the item them more space and foam is
required.
- Heavier, tougher items (like a cast iron
stove, for example) wouldn't need to be packed
so carefully, but mobility must still be kept in
mind.
Your best judgment applies to
packaging all the many millions of items currently
being shipped across America. Don't worry, our agents are available to assist you
through the entire shipment process, from the
moment you decide to ship until your shipment
reaches its destination. Just give us a call!
The decision to use any particular product for
any particular use is solely the responsibility of
the purchaser. We make no warranty about the
fitness of a particular product for a particular
use, even when a recommendation is asked for by
the prospective buyer and made by us. Check with
your freight carrier or airline for shipping
restrictions they may have.
Most orders are shipped within 1-3 working days
for molded and prefabricated cases off the shelf.
Any additions such as foam inserts, or special
modifications (shoulder straps, adding wheels,
etc.) will cause additional time prior to
shipping. Some orders that customers request same
day shipping on may incur a $25 handling fee to
process the order and ship the same day.
