Tips for determining case size

It is generally a good idea to provide ample room on all six sides of the item you are planning to ship.  Heavier items require more space and higher density foam.  It is not a good idea, for example to pack an item weighing 65lbs in a case that might have only 1/2" of space in any dimension between the item and the case wall.  If that case is dropped the high density foam will not be thick enough to cushion the blow of the 65lb item as it's momentum is transfered through the 1/2" thick foam to the case wall and inevitably the concrete below.
